You ever try to build a website with these “easy-to-use” platforms like Weebly, Wix, or WordPress and just end up feeling like you’re trying to solve a Rubik's cube blindfolded? Yeah, same here. I mean, come on, they're supposed to be simple, right? But I swear, every time I open one of those apps, it's like they’ve gone out of their way to make sure you have no idea what you're doing.
Let me tell you about my recent adventure with Weebly. I wanted to create a new page for my blog, thinking it would be a breeze. You know, just hit a button, and boom, “new blog page,” right? Nope. All I could find was "add a regular page." I’m sitting there like, *Where’s the blog option?* I clicked around, looked through all the menus—nothing. By this point, I’m just laughing at how unnecessarily complicated it is.
So, I decided to switch things up and try Wix. Maybe I’d have better luck there. Spoiler alert: I didn’t. It was the same headache, just with a slightly fancier design. You’d think these platforms would streamline the process, especially with how they market themselves as beginner-friendly. But no, they got me out here feeling like I need a degree in web design to do something as simple as posting a blog.
Now, I know some of y'all might be thinking, “Why not just stick with WordPress?” Yeah, WordPress is cool, but it also has its moments where it just wants to make your life difficult.
Honestly, I’ve come to the conclusion that if you want a straightforward, no-nonsense blog, it’s gotta be Blogger. Yeah, I said it. Sure, it looks a little old-school, but it's the only one that lets me do what I want without making me pull my hair out. Say what you want about Blogspot, but when it comes to user-friendly, it’s the real MVP. You just log in, hit "new post," and you’re good to go. No fancy tricks, no unnecessary features, just pure simplicity.
So yeah, after this little experiment, I'm sticking with Blogger for now. It may not be the prettiest, but at least I can actually get things done without needing a manual or a YouTube tutorial.
