Preparing for the Worst: How to Protect Yourself in a Chaotic World

The world is in a state of chaos, and there is a potential for World War III. People in the West often think bad things cannot happen to them, but it is important to protect oneself from changes in the world, including physical and geopolitical safety. Examining where to go in the event of a war is crucial.

During World War II, some countries remained safe, such as Brazil. Since 2008, global peacefulness has deteriorated by about 2%, with 75 countries worsening. Iceland ranks as the most peaceful country for 13 years in a row, but it is difficult to obtain citizenship. Obtaining an EU passport through citizenship by descent can provide options for relocation.

In the event of a war, it is important to have a plan in place. One option is to consider relocating to a country that is politically neutral and has a low probability of being invaded. Island states with political neutrality, such as Iceland, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Mauritius, are good options. Iceland is the leader of the Global Peacefulness Index and has been ranked number one for 13 years in a row. The country is thousands of kilometers away from the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe, making it unlikely to be in direct danger during a global war. Iceland also has plenty of land to settle on if you need to find a place to wait out the war.

Obtaining dual citizenship through citizenship by descent or through investment in countries like Malta can provide access to safety and freedom. Having a passport from an EU member state could provide some benefits in terms of mobility. Citizens and permanent residents of 27 European Union Member States along with Iceland, Lichtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland may choose to relocate without hindrance for work, education, or pleasure across an area spanning from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean, and from the Black Sea to the Atlantic Ocean.

In conclusion, the world is changing rapidly, and there is a concern that World War III could break out at any moment, leaving people with nowhere to go. However, despite the changes in the world, there are still options for those seeking safety and freedom. It is important to have a plan in place and consider all options, including relocating to a politically neutral country or obtaining dual citizenship through citizenship by descent or investment.
